Civic Waistline Expansion Initiative

Civic Waistline Expansion Directive is a lighthearted management sim style visual novel where you have the single goal of making a city as fat as you can manage.

Play as the newly elected mayor of a small city with a single goal: enact questionable policies each month with the sole aim of increasing the average weight of your city over the next 4 years. You'll enact a wide range of policies from taxing gyms to banning organic foods, and you'll be able to view the results of your efforts through news articles written by reporters alarmed by the sudden cultural shift towards gluttony.

Helping you run the city is your secretary - Maria. She is a cheery but professional young lady who is not privy to your secret agenda, and will helplessly fall victim to your policies alongside everyone else. Maybe you could invite her out for coffee and get to know her better~~ (Note, not implemented. See below for more info.)

There are multiple endings to view when your term as mayor ends—including the city becoming a totally immobile society, or merely becoming the fattest city on the planet.

Hello~! My name is Lovelessguy and this is only my second game. I'm open for tips on what I could improve if you know Ren'py or general game design~~

The primary gameplay loop is mostly there, but not entirely complete just yet. I want the polices to have descriptions (I've even programmed that system in already lol) and there to be more news articles, but unfortunately I have uni exams coming up and just want to get 'a' version of the game out before I have to switch focus to them.

Note: the game is not feature complete; Maria the secretary is present, but she will not be gaining weight. The dating mechanics are also not yet implemented. Unfortunately I'm not very good at drawing, so drawing just one stage of her takes me days.. Not to mention I don't really enjoy drawing that much, so its a bit of a drag for me :(. For that reason, I've opted to release this first version without any of her content beyond stage 1. Sorry if that's the part you're interested in...
